Paul Smiths, NY - Plenty of fresh snow made for solid trails but the weather kept the participants at a minimum as the Clarkson University Nordic Ski team competed in one final event before the USCSA Nationals, participating in the Paul Smiths Season Finale at the Visitors Interpretive Center.

Considerably smaller fields than usual were the order for Saturday, but the top skiers nevertheless competed. Sophomore Matthew Clarner claimed the top spot in the 15K Skate event with a time of 41 minutes, 50.3 seconds, roughly 30 seconds faster than the second finisher from Paul Smiths. Clarkson then had the next two skiers cross the finish line, as Torsten Brickley was only 4.7 seconds short of the runner-up spot, finishing in 42:24.8. Adam Jansen followed 25 seconds later, taking fourth overall in 42:50.5.

Clarkson brought a much smaller group than usual to the event and had three more competitors in the men's race. Silas Bartol was eighth in 46:17.7, Braydon Patch took 11th in 49:16.5, and Alex Evans placed 12th with a time of 52:46.6.

In the women's race, Skylar Francis was the only Golden Knight to compete, but she performed well, taking second among 12 skiers with a time of 52:55.1.
