Dana Hatton Selected as New Clarkson Cross Country and Nordic Ski Coach

Hatton Head Coach

Cross Country | 8/5/2025 3:57:00 PM

The Clarkson University Athletic Department is pleased to announce the hiring of Dana Hatton as the Golden Knights' Cross Country and Nordic Skiing Head Coach for 2025-26.

Hatton, a graduate of St. Lawrence University in 2018, was a part of the Saints' Nordic Ski team from 2015-2018, a regular competitor for the team's carnivals. Her best finish as a collegian came during 2018 when she placed 38th in the NCAA Division I field in the women's 5K Classic at the UVM Winter Carnival.

"We are excited to have someone with the depth of experience that Dana has in the coaching ranks," Clarkson University Athletic Director Laurel Kane said. "Her time in the North Country as a student-athlete prepares her well for recruiting to this spot in New York, renowned for its love of the outdoors, especially with the Adirondack Park so nearby. I believe that she will pick up right where former coach Torin La Liberte left off and keep both our Cross Country and Nordic Ski programs growing both regionally and nationally."

Since graduating, Hatton has spent her time in the coaching world, first as a graduate assistant for her alma mater from 2019-2021. Most recently, she was the head Nordic Coach and assistant cross country coach at Yarmouth High School in Maine (2022-2025), earning NFHS Maine State Nordic Coach of the Year honors in 2024, and also served as the Maine Coach for the New England U16 Championships since March 2023.  Hatton also served as the assistant National Team Coach for U.S. Biathlon in Lake Placid (2021) and was the assistant Nordic Ski Coach at Dartmouth in the winter of 2022.
