Braeden Burns Named Liberty League All-Star

Burns All-Liberty League

Men's Basketball | 3/4/2025 12:03:00 PM

Sophomore forward Braeden Burns of the Clarkson University Men's Basketball team was rewarded for his standout season for the Golden Knights as he was named a Liberty League Second-Team All-Star when the conference announced its end-of-the-year award winners on Tuesday afternoon.

Burns got off to a bit of a slow start, but after finals in December of 2024, he was a different player, averaging just under 20 points per game over the final 16 contests and finishing the year at 16.8 ppg, good enough for fifth in the Liberty League. His 17.7 points per contest in conference games was also the second best figure in the league. He shot 45.8% from the floor (ranking third in the conference) while also grabbing 6.6 rebounds per game (11th in the league), including a total of 58 on the offensive end, which placed him sixth in the Liberty League. He made 157 field goals, the second-most in the league, and had the eighth-highest figure of made free throws (72).

Over the course of the season, Burns posted eight 20-point games and notched five double-doubles. He also became a more efficient 3-point shooter in league play, making 31 of his 35 long-range shots in the team's 18 conference games.
