Geneva, NY - A pair of 20-point efforts from underclassmen and a healthy effort on the boards gave William Smith some revenge against the Clarkson University Women's Basketball team as the Golden Knights fell 85-62 Friday night, splitting the season series with the Herons.

The Golden Knights fell to 6-16 overall and 2-9 in conference games, while William Smith moved to 7-14 overall and 3-8 in the league. Clarkson looks to get back on track against Hamilton College on Saturday afternoon.

Clarkson led late in the first half with a one-point lead with just under seven minutes to go, but the Knights ended the period behind by eight. The Green and Gold held close early in the second half, trailing by just seven at the 12:32 mark after junior Katie Goldberg (Stowe, VT) made one of her three 3-point field goals in the contest. However, the Herons ended the game with a 27-11 run over the final 12 minutes, stopping Clarkson's two-game win streak.

Goldberg finished with a team-high 13 points to lead Clarkson. Junior guard Lauren Pluchino (Liverpool, NY) had a solid all-around game with 12 points, 5 rebounds, and 3 assists, while sophomore guard Morgan Carella (Roslyn Heights, NY) added in 9 points, 5 rebounds, and 4 assists. Senior forward Michelle Reddinger (Baldwinsville, NY) came within a point of another double-double, finishing with 9 points and 10 rebounds.

Ashlinn Barber was a tough opponent for the Knights, as the junior scored 26 points (11-for-22 shooting) and had 16 rebounds, part of a 47-35 edge on the glass for William Smith, including 25 offensive rebounds. Kristen Kush added 27 points and 6 rebounds, shooting 10-for-14 from the field and 7-for-7 from the free throw line.
