The Clarkson Men's Hockey team will head back to Potsdam with a weekend split at #20 Notre Dame, after falling 3-0 to the Irish on Sunday night at Compton Family Arena in South Bend.

The Knights who were without their top two point producers from last season, Mathieu Gosselin and Ayrton Martino, were still able to generate 47 shots at net with 21 registering on goal.  Eric Ciccolini led the team in shots with 3 and 11 players registered shots on goal.  

In the first period the Knights tied the Irish with 6 shots on net, while killing off a Notre Dame power play and also getting a chance of their own that they would not covert on.

The second period would see the Irish gain a slight shot advantage and get the period's only goal, when the freshman, Jayden Davis would get his first goal of his career in his first game.  

In the third, as the Knights had to press for more offense, the Irish were able to capitalize when Danny Nelson was able to make it 2-0 early in the period and then on the only power play goal of the weekend, Landon Slaggert made it 3-0.  T

Clarkson would pull their goalie with 3:14 remaining and get multiple chances to score, but Bischel was able to preserve the shut out for the Irish. 

The Knights will stay in the Big10 for their next opponent, when they face Penn St. next Friday night at Cheel Arena for the home opener at Cheel.
