Schenectady, NY – The Knights fell behind quickly but struck back right away and were able to hang on for the 4-3 win at Union.
A centering attempt by the Knights ended up all the way down in the Clarkson end, but a turnover turned into a Union goal just 29 seconds into the game.
Clarkson would even the game up that next shift, 35 seconds after Union scored when
Brady Egan would get an unassisted goal. Clarkson would take the lead for good 22 seconds after that when
Jordan Power would put the Knights up 2-1.
Clarkson would go up 3-1 in the 2nd period when Egan got his 2nd of the game at 2:29. Egan's goal came with an extra attacker on from a delayed penalty call on Union.
Union would pull back to within 1 when Prokop scored at 11:31 of the 2nd.
At 5:01 of the 3rd,
Anthony Callin's 9th goal of the season put the Knights back up by 2.
Alex Campbell and
Jacob Schmidt-Svejstrup would add assists on the goal.
Union would get a power play with under 4 minutes to go and pull their goalie, the Knights would kill off the penalty but with the extra attacker still on the ice, Union finally scored with 1:30 left on the clock to pull within 1.
Union would get the extra skater again with about 57 seconds left, but great shot blocking and a timely clear finished off the game for Clarkson, preserving the 4-3 win.
Ethan Haider finished with 23 saves, Connor Murphy of Union finished with 21.
Clarkson heads home 11-10-3, and will next face St. Lawrence in a home-and-home series this weekend.
