Game Recap: Men's Hockey |

Campbell scores late to lift Knights over Arizona St.

The Knights played host to a team that left 70 degree warmth to find the North Country in the midst of it's first snow of the season.  Arizona St, winners of 5 straight including a win over #6 North Dakota in Vegas, came into Cheel looking to also run their win streak against the Knights to 4 games, but Alex Campbell would make sure that didn't happen tonight.

Clarkson was first to strike in the 2nd period at 7:59 when Alex Campbell would get his 6th of the year from Jordan Power and Ryan Taylor.

Arizona St would answer back at 13:52 when Tim Lovell would sneak one past Haider to tie the game at up at 1 a piece heading into the 2nd intermission.

The teams would trade chances on the power play, with the best chance of the 3rd coming on a short handed break for ASU, but Ethan Haider was able to control the shot.  The Knights would take a penalty with 4 minutes left in the game, but the penalty kill that has been strong over this win streak, would hold tight and keep ASU off the board.  With under a minutes, Mathieu Gosselin would create a turn over near center ice which led to a chance in the ASU zone.  The pressure forced ASU to clear back towards the Clarkson blue line, which allowed Ayrton Martino to get the puck across to Alex Campbell.  Campbell entered the zone and left the puck for Martino who slide it back to Alex allowing him to slip under the Sun Devils D, and sneak a shot just under the arm of the ASU goalie with only :16 seconds left on the clock to put Clarkson up 2-1.

Both teams would end up 0 for 3 with the power play.  Ethan Haider would finish with 27 saves for his 4th straight game giving up 1 goal or less.

Both teams will face off tomorrow at 7:00 pm at Cheel.  Tomorrow is Hockey Fights Cancer night, fans are encouraged to wear white to show support by creating a "White Out" at Cheel
