The Tournament:
#3 Vassar vs. #2 RIT – 5:00 pm (11/2)
#4 Clarkson vs. #1 Ithaca – 7:30 pm (11/2)
Championship Match – 4:00 pm (11/3)

#4 Clarkson (16-10 overall, 4-3 Liberty League): One of the top defensive teams in the country, the Golden Knights are allowing a .118 hitting percentage to opponents, including a .122 rate against conference foes. Clarkson also ranks fourth in the nation in digs per set (22.42), plus-4.3 digs more than any other team in the conference. The Golden Knights' total of 2,354 digs is the most in the country, led by Kate Isaksen's figure of 859, a school record in that category. Isaksen leads the country in total digs (859) and digs per set (8.18), but she is far from the only player on the team with defensive acumen. Meghan Edmund averages 3.64 digs per set, Maddie Bredehoeft is at 3.59 digs per set, and Kendal Cheval produces 3.49 digs per set. The Knights are also good at the net with 1.77 blocks per set, a figure owed in large part to Rachel Reusch. The junior middle hitter is second in the conference with 1.02 blocks per set, but her 39 solo blocks are nearly double that of every other player in the league and are the third-highest figure in all of NCAA Division III this year. Gillian Kurtic also contributes up front with 63 total blocks.

#1 Ithaca (18-6 overall, 7-0 Liberty League): The Bombers have been without senior middle hitter Amanda Cerruti for most of the year, but Ithaca has nevertheless played well without the standout. Sophomore Reagan Stone has stepped up on offense and ranks fifth in the nation in kills per set (4.42 kps) with a .289 hitting percentage, knocking down 5.57 kills per set against conference opponents. Her efforts have helped Ithaca produce 12.83 kills per set on average and more than 14 per set in league games. Junior Caitlin Floyd runs the offense at a rate of 10.63 assists per set, which ranks 16th nationally, finding Stone and senior middle hitter Katie Evans (.342 hitting percentage) with regularity. Senior Tara Stilwell leads the defense with 4.66 digs per set while also contributing on offense with a team-best 37 aces.

#2 RIT (26-4 overall, 6-1 Liberty League): The Tigers have reemerged after a down year thanks to freshman Katie Hobler, who has improved as the year has gone on, averaging 4.29 kills per set overall and 5.10 kills per set over the team's last 10 matches. RIT is hitting a league-best .230 overall and .257 in conference, with the former figure ranking 32nd nationally. Kelly Waters is third in the league in hitting percentage at .337 (averaging 2.06 kills per set), just ahead of Hobler's .326 rate. Taylor Higgins (2.80 kps) and Sara Taylor (1.83 kps) are also frequent targets of senior setter Erin Parkinson, who leads the conference and is 15th nationally in assists per set at 10.68. RIT is also second in the league in aces per set (2.35 aps) and kills per set (12.75 kps).

#3 Vassar (15-9 overall, 5-2 Liberty League): A veteran group that is looking for its first post-season league title this decade, Vassar was ever-so close to hosting the tournament. Both of its losses came on the road against RIT and Ithaca, and both went to five sets. The Brewers are led by reigning Liberty League Player of the Year Devan Gallagher, who is averaging 3.76 kills per set (4.18 in conference matches). Gallagher is joined by junior Jane McLeod, who missed the end of last season with injury but is back averaging 3.47 kills per set in 2018. Senior setter Annie MacMillan is another excellent setter in the Liberty League, averaging 10.10 assists per set, a number which ranks 36th nationally but just third in the Liberty League. Sophomore libero Anna Zucchero averages 4.85 digs per set to lead the defense.
