An impressive performance from Victoria Kirkemo (Englewood, CO) over the last week, in which the Clarkson University Volleyball team won all five matches and improved to 8-0 in conference play, earned the sophomore the Liberty League Performer of the Week honor on Monday. She is the second straight Golden Knight to earn the honor, following Xiao Liang (Tianjin, China) earning the honor last week.
The Golden Knights, 17-4 overall, continued their conference schedule with sweeps of Bard and Vassar for a second time this year, as well as a sweep of Skidmore and a 3-1 win over Union. The Knights also swept non-conference foe Cortland State earlier in the week. The sophomore recorded 58 kills in 16 sets (3.62 kps), 10 aces (.62 per set), and 34 digs (2.12 per set). She added five assists and four blocks in a dominant week for the Green and Gold.
Overall, Kirkemo is fourth in the league with 62 kills (3.44 kps), as well as second in service aces with 15 (0.83 per set). She has helped Clarkson lead the league in both categories.
