Cassidy Warner (Vinkle) became the first former Golden Knight to join the coaching staff. The 2019 graduate, was a steady two-way center who scored 23 goals and recorded 37 assists for 60 points through 162 games, which is the Clarkson career record for most games player at 162.
Part of the reason that Matt saw Cassidy as an attractive fit for the role was her leadership when she was here as a player, Vinkle was named Captain as a Senior & Assistant Captain as a Junior. Cassidy was an instrumental leader in both the 2018 and 2017 National Championship teams.
After Clarkson, Cassidy for the PWHPA in 2019-20 and 2020-21 and then played the 2021-22 season with the Buffalo Beauts. While playing she also gained experience behind the bench when she served as an assistant coach for New England College's women's hockey program in 2019-20 through 2020-21.
Before Clarkson, Cassidy played alongside fellow Clarkson teammate, Rhyen McGill with the Whitby Jr. Wolves. She also participated in U18 Team Canada selection camps and strength and conditioning camp, where she won silver medal with U18 Team Ontario and 2015 Canada Winter Games.
