Biography
FRESHMAN SEASON (2025-26): Walton made an immediate impact on Clarkson’s blue line during her freshman season, appearing in 33 games. The defenseman recorded three goals and four assists for seven points while posting a plus-14 rating. She also registered 26 blocked shots and scored on three of her 15 shots on goal for a .200 shooting percentage.
Walton wasted little time recording her first collegiate goal, opening the scoring just 90 seconds into Clarkson’s season-opening 6-3 victory at Merrimack. After receiving a pass from Sara Manness at the right point, Walton sent a shot through traffic and into the net to give the Golden Knights an early lead. The Geneseo, New York, native continued to contribute during ECAC play, collecting two goals and three assists for five points in all 22 conference games. Walton played an important role in Clarkson’s 2-1 victory over Harvard, contributing to the sequence that produced the Golden Knights’ opening power-play goal before helping create Sena Catterall’s eventual game-winner early in the second period.
Walton delivered another key goal late in the season against Colgate. She moved into the slot and fired a wrist shot high to the stick side to open the scoring in Clarkson’s 4-3 overtime victory. Two of her three goals during the season were the first goals of a game, demonstrating her ability to give the Golden Knights an early lift. With her versatility, efficient scoring and reliable two-way play, Walton completed a promising freshman campaign. Her plus-14 rating and regular role throughout conference play established a strong foundation for an expanded presence on Clarkson’s defensive corps.
BEFORE CLARKSON:
Walton joined Clarkson from the Bishop Kearney Selects program, where she showcased elite versatility playing both forward and defense at the 19U Tier 1 level. A dynamic skater with a high hockey IQ, Walton is known for her two-way play and creative instincts on the ice. She earned a Division I scholarship after establishing herself as one of the top prospects in New York State.
Off the ice, Walton excelled academically with a 98.5 GPA and top-10 class ranking at Bishop Kearney. A multi-sport athlete, she also played varsity soccer and softball, leading Geneseo to a Section V soccer title as a freshman and posting strong stats in all sports.
Walton will bring energy, intelligence, and a competitive edge to the Golden Knights' lineup.
