New Korey

Korey Bunal

The Sports Medicine Department at Clarkson University is excited to announce that Korey Bunal has been named the Head Athletic Trainer.

Korey’s primary responsibilities for the Golden Knights will include working with the Division III athletes, Women’s Volleyball, Men’s Basketball, and Men’s Lacrosse.  A native of Rome, NY, Korey attended Herkimer College for two years and participated as a dual sport athlete; Women’s Basketball and Softball. Bunal then attended The State University of New York at Cortland and graduated summa cum laude in December of 2018, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Athletic Training. While at SUNY Cortland, she served as a student athletic trainer for Football, Men’s and Women’s Track I and Field & Cross Country, and I Women’s Softball, along with the Cornell University Baseball Team during the spring 2018 season.
Bunal is currently pursuing her Master’s Degree of Science in Nutrition and Rehabilitation Sciences from California University of Pennsylvania.

Prior to Clarkson, Bunal worked at Greensboro College in North Carolina. During her two years of employment, she worked with the Women’s Soccer (Spring 2021 USA South Champions), Men’s and Women’s Swimming, Men’s Basketball, Women’s Lacrosse, and Softball programs. While in Greensboro, NC she served as one of the primary athletic trainers for the US Figure Skating Championships in 2020.  Prior to Greensboro, Korey served as an Assistant Athletic Training at Herkimer College for a spring season, working with men’s basketball, baseball and softball.  Bunal is a CPR Instructor for the American Heart Association and the American Red Cross. She is a licensed Athletic Trainer in both North Carolina and New York. Outside of Athletic Training, Korey enjoys outdoor activities (hiking, kayaking).
