Biography

Mikael, a native of Saint-Hyacinthe, Quebec, is a 6'3", 196 lb center known for his size, skill, and hockey IQ. In the 2024–25 season, he played 26 games for the Concordia University Stingers in U SPORTS, recording 9 goals and 19 assists for 28 points.  Huchette is a 6'3" right-shooting center, known for his size, intelligent two-way play, and knack for pitching in on offense. He joins Clarkson as a seasoned transfer from Concordia University, bringing a blend of junior and U SPORTS experience to the ice.

A fifth-round pick by the Québec Remparts in the 2019 QMJHL Entry Draft, Huchette developed into a reliable contributor over four junior seasons. He registered 102 points (38 goals, 64 assists) over 156 QMJHL games, playing key roles for both the Remparts and the Drummondville Voltigeurs. Along the way, he helped capture back-to-back QMJHL championships in 2023 and 2024 and was part of the 2023 Memorial Cup–winning Remparts squad.  In late 2023, he was traded to Drummondville, where he wrapped up his junior career strong—totalling 40 points (11 goals, 29 assists) in just 36 games, along with an impressive +28 plus-minus rating. He also earned the alternate-captain role during the playoffs with the Voltigeurs and maintained a solid faceoff win rate (58.1%).

Huchette transitioned to the U SPORTS ranks for the 2024–25 season with Concordia University, where he notched 28 points (9 goals, 19 assists) in 26 games—demonstrating his ability to adjust and produce at the collegiate level.
