SOPHOMORE YEAR (2025-26):  Sukovic continued to develop into one of Clarkson’s most versatile forwards during his sophomore season, recording three goals and 14 assists for 17 points in 36 games. He ranked second on the team in assists, finished with a plus-four rating and placed nine shots behind the team lead with 52 attempts on goal. Sukovic also contributed 14 blocked shots while taking on responsibilities in several different situations...Sukovic made an immediate impact during Clarkson’s October series at fourth-ranked Penn State. He recorded two assists in the Golden Knights’ 6–4 comeback victory, including a cross-crease pass to Owen Van Steensel for the game-tying goal early in the third period. The following night, Sukovic scored just 21 seconds after the opening faceoff, finishing an odd-man rush with a shot into the top corner...His playmaking remained a consistent part of Clarkson’s offense throughout the year. Sukovic assisted on Matthew Mayich’s goal at Quinnipiac, helped create a transition goal in a December victory over Colgate and set up Ryan Bottrill’s tying goal in the Golden Knights’ 3–2 win over RIT...One of Sukovic’s most memorable moments came in Clarkson’s dramatic 8–7 overtime victory over Union. He broke a 6–6 tie late in the third period by collecting the puck in the left circle and firing a wrist shot into the net for his third goal of the season. He later added an assist in Clarkson’s 4–1 win over Colgate, which secured home ice for the opening round of the ECAC Hockey playoffs...Sukovic finished conference play with one goal and six assists in 21 ECAC contests. His combination of size, puck protection and passing ability allowed him to contribute throughout the lineup, while his 14 assists demonstrated his ability to create opportunities

FRESHMAN YEAR (2024-25):  Sukovic made an immediate impact during his freshman season at Clarkson, finishing with seven goals and nine assists for 16 points in 36 games. The 6-foot-3 forward tied for fourth on the team in goals, posted a plus-seven rating and converted 13.7 percent of his 51 shots on goal. Clarkson’s official statistics credited him with three game-winning goals, one power-play goal, one shorthanded goal and 14 blocked shots...Sukovic was especially productive in conference play, collecting six goals and four assists for 10 points in all 22 ECAC Hockey games. He recorded two game-winning goals against league opponents and finished with a plus-three rating. His strong play during the first half of the season also earned him ECAC Hockey Rookie of the Week honors in November...One of Sukovic’s early breakout performances came in a 6–3 victory over Stonehill, when he scored during Clarkson’s three-goal opening period and also helped set up a goal by Tate Taylor. The following weekend, he scored twice in a 4–1 win over Union, redirecting the eventual game-winning goal before adding an empty-netter late in the third period...Sukovic delivered another standout effort against Cornell in February, scoring twice as Clarkson rallied from an early two-goal deficit to earn a 3–3 tie with the Big Red. His first goal came at even strength before he added a power-play marker, recording the first multi-goal performance of his collegiate career...His biggest moment arrived in the deciding game of Clarkson’s ECAC quarterfinal series against Harvard. With the score tied in overtime, Sukovic drove toward the net and converted at 7:10 to give the Golden Knights a 2–1 victory, sending Clarkson to the conference championship weekend in Lake Placid. The series-clinching goal was his third game-winner of the season.

The back of the Hockey Card: Luka is a right shot forward from Lincolnshire, Illinois…Was awarded the MVP of the AJHL in 2024…Had 67 points in 57 games last season for the Bonnyville Pontiacs…Led the AJHL with 35 goals last season.

Get to know Luka: Son of Miles Sukovic…Has an older brother, Marko attending law school & a younger brother Aleks, who is attending college, and a younger sister Ana, who plays lacrosse and tennis in high school…loves to fish, reportedly has caught almost every fish species in Illinois…Will start as a Business Studies Major in the Reh School of Business at Clarkson.
