One final doubleheader remains for the Clarkson University Softball team as the Golden Knights will host Rensselaer on Saturday to close out the 2026 campaign.

The Series: The Knights went 1-2 last year against RPI, splitting the regular-season doubleheader and then dropping a 6-2 decision in the Liberty League Tournament. Clarkson's win broke a six-game losing streak against the Engineers, with the previous win coming in 2019. 

Key Stats for Clarkson (7-26, 1-11 Liberty League): Following a split against SUNY Potsdam on Monday, the Golden Knights are now 4-4 in their last eight games, keyed largely by an emerging offense. Over the past eight contests, the team is hitting .385 overall, with only one game coming in below the .300 mark, and eight of the squad's 15 home runs this season has come during that stretch. Although a number of hitters have been on heaters lately, junior Lexi Rydelek has been going particularly strong with four multi-hit games in her last seven games, including three home runs and four doubles (1.091 slugging percentage) to go along with 11 runs batted in. 

Key Stats for Rensselaer (23-11, 8-4 Liberty League): Roughly two-thirds of the innings for the Engineers have been tossed by Callie Volker and Ava Markert this year. Volker has just four wins to show for her effort despite a 2.42 earned run average and 59 strikeouts in 69.1 innings of work, while Markert has nine complete games and a 9-5 record with a 1.20 WHIP and 2.78 earned run average in 85.2 innings. Those two hurlers and the rest of the staff have been helped out by a sterling defense that boasts a league-best .965 fielding percentage. Callista Adorno is the team's top hitter, producing a .406/.484/.575 slash line with 29 runs scored and 25 more driven in.
