The Series: The Cardinals travel to Potsdam to complete the two-game series for the 2026 season on Wednesday, with first pitch scheduled for 3:30 p.m. Clarkson escaped with a 12-9 win in the reverse meeting in early April as Jason McGee would get the win as part of a six-pitcher combination for the Knights. James Chagnon, James Mason and Beau Vardion all had two hits apiece with Chagnon driving in a team-high two RBIs.

Key Stats for Clarkson (16-12, 7-8 Liberty League): Mason became the latest member of the Knight's 100 hit club over the weekend, going 3-6 at the plate in game one against University of Rochester, smacking a double and scoring three runs. Jacob Shirley tossed a nine-inning complete game in the win on Friday, striking out nine while giving up seven hits. The pitching staff for the Golden Knights ranks third in the Liberty League in combined ERA (4.99) while walking the second-fewest batters in the league (109) as well. Fielding mishaps were a bit of a concern through the Rochester series however, as the defense finished with 10 total on Saturday, five coming in each game of the doubleheader, including several in crucial plays late-on.

Key Stats for Plattsburgh State (13-13, 4-10 SUNYAC): William Keefe led the Cardinals at the plate on April 8th, going 3-4 at the plate with two RBIs but each of the four pitchers that threw on the day allowed two or more runs with the starter, Jack Castillo, the only one not to be tacked with an earned run. Sweeping SUNY Canton in a league doubleheader on Tuesday, the Cardinals walked off game two, 6-5, as Michael Piccirillo produced a one-out,  bases-loaded single up the middle as the team looks for a late resurgence in the league.
