Staying in New York for the weekend, the Clarkson University Baseball team travels to Clinton to take on Hamilton College and Oswego State, Saturday and Sunday.
The Series: The Knights will face Hamilton on Saturday for a double-header before facing returning for a single game versus Oswego State on Sunday. First pitch on Saturday is slated for noon while Sunday is scheduled an hour earlier at 11 a.m. The last time that Clarkson and the Continentals met in 2024 resulted in a split of two, one-run games with Clarkson falling 2-1 before holding on to a 9-8 win in the nightcap. Clarkson took both games of a doubleheader last year at Oswego scoring a total of 11 runs in just the third inning over the two contests.
Key Stats for Clarkson (1-1): Nathan Hartley earned the win in game one of the split with Muhlenberg last weekend, putting him within one of tying his career-high of two last year in 14 appearances. The junior struck out four while giving up one earned run through five innings in relief. Beau Vardion picked up right where he left off last year going 5-8 on the day with two RBIs and two runs in game one.
Key Stats for Hamilton (0-2): The Continentals are coming off of two losses at #4 Johns Hopkins on Sunday. An early 4-0 lead in the top of the second evaporated as Hamilton gave up 18 unanswered runs over the next seven innings in the 18-6 loss. First baseman Michael Tallarida went 2-4 with two RBIs in game one while infielder Alfonso Rada led at the plate in game two, going 2-4 with two RBIs of his own.
Key Stats for Oswego State (0-6): Still searching for their first win of 2026, the Lakers dropped a narrow 5-4 decision to Shenandoah University last Sunday in Virginia. Emil Sander is the only hitter currently above .300 at the plate with a .409 average; the senior is off to a 6-11 start with two doubles and a triple over the past three games. Jonah Shearer is one of three pitchers to start two games and has compiled eight strikeouts over 7.2 innings but has also surrendered 15 hits and 11 earned runs over that same timeframe.
