The Series: Last year's contest against Geneseo was a bit of an outlier compared to recent meetings. From 2022-2024, the teams were separated by two goals, with Clarkson winning a one-goal contest in 2022 and a two-score game in 2023 and Geneseo taking a 9-8 victory in 2024. However, Clarkson had no trouble with the Knights last spring, holding Geneseo to just a single first-half goal while running up double digits in the same time frame before cruising to a 17-5 win.

Key Stats for Clarkson (2-0): It is early, but the Golden Knights defense through the first two games has been exemplary, holding opponents to a total of seven goals in 120 minutes. More impressively, the team has allowed just two scores in the last 86:50. Jack Garvey has caused seven turnovers and scooped up seven groundballs in the first two games while Dylan Coan has four caused turnover in opening contests. Griffin Emerson has a 3.70 goals against average and a .731 save percentage in 113-plus minutes between the pipes.

Key Stats for Geneseo (1-2): Not dodging anyone in non-league, Geneseo has faced three Liberty League teams, dropping contests to top-20 teams in Rensselaer and RIT but beating Ithaca by a one-goal margin. The Knights are led by Ronnie Trebing, who has 10 points with nine goals and an assist, while Jake Perinchief has found the twine six times. Defensively, Nick DiCastro has posted seven caused turnovers, but Josh Knapp has been equally busy with six forced turnovers and 10 groundballs. Ben Bradshaw has started all three games in the crease for Geneseo, generating a .412 save percentage.
