CJ Kanick, a sophomore on the Clarkson University Baseball team has been named to the D3baseball Team of the Week, one of five pitchers recognized nationally for his performance over the past week. Kanick started on the mound for the Golden Knights against Farmingdale State on March 13th in Florida, producing a 13 strikeout performance while giving up just one hit and one walk through the seven-inning, 10-0 win over the Rams. The 13 strikeouts are the most in a single appearance by a Clarkson pitcher in the past four seasons.

On the year, the sophomore from Buffalo has made two appearances as a pitcher for the Knights, the other resulting in a save for the sophomore in a 2-0 win at Hamilton on March 7th. Kanick has also seen the field as a first baseman and finished with four RBIs through four games with plate appearances in the Sunshine State.
