The Series: Clarkson dropped both reverse meetings with the Engineers and Garnet Chargers back during early December. Steve DeRegis had 23 points against Union but the Knights were unable to hold on to a four-point halftime lead, getting outscored 47-28 in the second half, as the hosts would earn an 85-70 win. Braeden Burns led the way with 15 points in the 48-52 loss to RPI the day prior. Neither team would score more than 27 points in either half, with Clarkson finishing 31% and RPI going 32% from the field.

Key Stats for Clarkson (11-12, 6-10 Liberty League): Nate Abernethy was selected as the Liberty League Rookie of the Week for the fifth time of the season when announced by the league this past week. The freshman averaged 19 points per game and five rebounds per outing while shooting nearly 50% from the field against Skidmore and Hobart. Entering the weekend in eighth place in the conference standings, the Golden Knights can finish as high as sixth if results go their way.

Key Stats for Union (18-5, 13-3 Liberty League): The Garnet Chargers come into Friday in second place and have won three of their last four contests. Cade Furse entered last weekend averaging 1.5 points per game but finished the two-day stretch more than doubling his season total up to that point. The first-year tallied 10 in an overtime loss at Vassar on Friday before going for 21 against Bard on Saturday on 6-8 shooting from the field. Tanner Tedesco leads the league in assists, averaging 6.0 per game, more than two ahead of the next closest player.

Key Stats for RPI (18-5, 14-2 Liberty League): The Engineers command sole control of first place in the league before embarking on their trip up north. Only Union and Skidmore have managed to best RPI in the league so far with their last loss coming on January 30th at the hands of the Thoroughbreds. Andrew Deppe leads the team in scoring with 13.5 points per game and has been held under 10 points just once in the last 11 games. RPI leads the league in defensive efficiency allowing just 60.7 points per game on average while also holding a league-leading scoring margin of 10.2.
