The gauntlet that is the Liberty League resumes for the Clarkson University Men's Lacrosse team this weekend as the Golden Knights take on Skidmore College on Saturday afternoon.

The Series: The Golden Knights have won seven of the last 10 meetings against the Thoroughbreds, but Skidmore won by one goal in both 2023 and 2024. Last year's meeting was a 13-12 overtime victory for the Thoroughbreds with David Kofler scoring in the final minute to tie the game and Brian Gonsalves winning it in the extra session.

Key Stats for Clarkson (7-3, 0-1 Liberty League): Graduate student Matt Szwagulinski continues to menace opposing offenses, leading the Liberty League with 32 caused turnovers (3.20 ctpg), already matching his career-high in that category when he totaled 32 in 17 games last year. Szwagulinski also appears in the top 10 in the conference in groundballs per game (4.20, tied for ninth), a category filled by the faceoff specialists. Griffin Emerson has also stood out in the crease for the Knights, posting a 7.31 goals against average in 525 minutes, ranking second in the league in GAA.

Key Stats for Skidmore (4-3, 1-0 Liberty League): The Thoroughbreds upended St. Lawrence in their last game, and the three losses the team has suffered have been by a combined four goals. Mike Aiello leads the team in scoring with 23 points (17-6), but it is Brian Gonsalves who has the most production per game, having scored 22 points in only five outings.
