Knights looking for big road weekend in Central NY

The Golden Knights make their final road trip of the regular season as they head to Central NY to face Cornell and Colgate.  Earlier in the month, the Knights tied Cornell at home, coming back from a 3-1 deficit and lost to Colgate, 2-0, despite out shooting the Raiders.

Heading into the weekend, the Knights sit in 2nd place in the ECAC with 36 points.  Clarkson is 4 points out of first place but only 2 points ahead of Colgate and Union.   The fight for a first round bye and home ice in the quarterfinals will come down to how the Knights can fair against the 3rd and 6th place teams in the ECAC.

Since the tie against Cornell on Feb. 1st,  Clarkson has won 4 straight and moved from 5th to 2nd place in the ECAC.  Cornell has also fared well since that tie, going 3-1.

Ayrton Martino has scored 4 goals and 6 assists so far in February.  He was named the ECAC Forward of the Month for Jan. and then the ECAC Forward of the Week last week.  Martino is 2nd in the NCAA and tops in the ECAC for Game Winning goals with 7 on the season.   Martino is also 7th in the NCAA for Goals per game (1.00) which is the best in the ECAC.

Tonight's game will be streamed on ESPN+ and can be heard on B99.3 FM with the voice of the Golden Knights, Bob Ahlfeld and Casey Ditzel.
