The Clarkson University Women's Hockey team returns to Cheel Arena tonight looking to ride the momentum of the 6-1 win over SLU last week as they host the Brown Bears in an important ECAC Hockey showdown.
When these teams last met, Brown stunned the seventh-ranked Knights with a 3–2 overtime victory, the Bears' first win at Cheel Arena in nearly two decades. Clarkson controlled large portions of that matchup, outshooting Brown and generating extended offensive-zone pressure, but the Knights were unable to convert key chances. Brown clawed back late in regulation and sealed the upset on an OT strike from India McDadi.
Clarkson broke out of their scoring slump with a 6 goal effort over SLU in front of a sold out crowd. 2 goals each from
Sena Catterall and
Manon le Scodan and 3 assists each from both of the Manness sisters helped give the Knights the win and some confidence heading into this weekend.
The Bears, meanwhile, come in with confidence and a competitive edge that has been building throughout their campaign. Brown is 7-2-1 with a sweep of Harvard and Dartmouth last weekend.
Brown's trio of Margot Norehad, Monique Lyons, and McDadi have paced the team in points. Strong goaltending has also been a big part of their strong start, they have split time between Zupkofska and Edwards.
Tonight is the Hockey Fights Cancer Game. There will be a puck drop before the game to honor several survivors in the crowd. Fans are encouraged to stop by the tables in the lobby for more information.
