Looking for a bounce back on familiar grounds, the Clarkson University Baseball team will play its first home game of the 2024 season when the Golden Knights host Plattsburgh State in a single nine-inning contest on Tuesday afternoon at Jack Phillips Stadium.

The Series: The two teams split a season ago with plenty of offense to go around. Plattsburgh won in Potsdam, 14-11 on April 4th, but the Knights tossed 23 runs on the scoreboard the following week on the road. The Knights had multiple runs in all but two of the innings of the second contest.

Key Stats for Clarkson (7-8): The Golden Knights have lost five straight, all in conference, as the bats have gone a bit cold on the team's return to New York with just one game in that stretch in which the squad reached double figures in hits. Graduate student Kent Wilson still leads the team at .381/.437/.508 as the only regular hitting above .300. Catcher Robert Fratangelo is 10-for-33 (.303) with four doubles and five RBI. Wilson and Figliolino lead the team with 11 RBI. Clarkson's pitching staff has struck out 97, but also allowed 71 walks.

Key Stats for Plattsburgh State (11-7): The Cardinals have drawn 124 walks in 18 games so far, though that number is bolstered by 24 free passes in one game in early March. Plattsburgh will take advantage when it gets runners on, having stolen 47 bases in 52 attempts so far. Kyle Cremin leads the team with four home runs and 27 RBI and is one percentage point off the team-lead in slugging at .650. Joe DiRocco (.395/.500/.651) has also produced two home runs and 16 RBI, while Aidan Diltz (.404/.485/.456) and Alex Kornblau (.350/.475/.533) also posted solid slash lines.
