The bats were alive on Tuesday in the Clarkson University Baseball team's 23-6 win over Plattsburgh State, and the Golden Knights look to carry over that offensive potency this weekend when the team returns to Liberty League play, taking on Bard College and Rensselaer in a pair of doubleheaders.

The Series: The Golden Knights have won 15 of 16 meetings against the Raptors, including a doubleheader sweep (11-2, 14-4) back in 2021. Rivals for the last two decades, the Golden Knights won both of their Liberty League Championships in Troy in 2009 and 2011. Clarkson won last year's meeting against RPI (11-5), but the Engineers took three of four in the 2019 series.

Key Stats for Clarkson (6-14, 4-4 Liberty League): Senior Colby Brouillette smashed a pair of home runs on Tuesday and is now tied for third all-time in that category at Clarkson with 15. He also edged up the all-time RBI list and has 92 in his career with the Knights, good enough for eighth all-time. Brouillette is hitting .365/.437/.581 with 16 runs scored and 14 more driven in. Just behind Brouillette on offense are Cam Jerrett and Caleb Doyle. Jerrett is batting .352/.455/.444, having driven in six against the Cardinals on Tuesday, while Doyle is batting .342/.448/.397 with 14 RBI, primarily from the leadoff spot.

Key Stats for Bard (6-11, 4-5 Liberty League): The Raptors' pitching staff has been hit the tune of a .333 average, giving up 189 hits in 129 innings. Bard does have some good arms, however, as Aidan Risse has a 2.08 earned run average with 31 strikeouts against just seven walks in 26 innings. Offensively, Jared Toby is slashing .386/.514/.526 with 18 runs scored and Jake Stacey is batting .345/.397/.564 with 22 RBI. They are the only two regulars hitting over .300. The Raptors like to run, going 40-for-52 on the base paths.

Key Stats for RPI (16-9-1, 3-3 Liberty League): The most lethal bat in the Engineers' lineup is Martin Marintchev, as he ranks third in average (.430), second in on-base percentage (.542), and fifth in slugging percentage (.656), thanks to a league-best 13 doubles. He has also scored 28 times and driven in 29. The Engineers are hitting .332 overall, bolstered by Julian Scarpa (.378/.460/.543), Aidan Hicks (.359/.417/.500), and Joey Saia (.315/.382)/.562). All three have driven in more than 20 runs, and Saia has struck for three home runs among his 13 extra-base hits.
