Men's Hockey

Clarkson heads to Merrimack

After a thrilling 3-2 overtime win on Saturday vs Vermont, the Knights will continue with another Hockey East foe, as they head to North Andover, MA to face the Merrimack Warriors.  The teams will play just the Friday game as this will complete a series that was interrupted by COVID shortened seasons for many schools.

The team is 2-2, after playing much of the season without the two top returning scorers from last season, Mathieu Gosselin and Ayrton MartinoRyan Taylor has emerged, scoring 2 goals in the last two games, along with Anthony Romano, who's OT goal lifted the Knights on Saturday and his 4 points leads the team.  Daimon Gardner earned his first two points of his career and in the process was named the ECAC Rookie of the Week.

Austin Roden has been solid in net for all 4 games.  His save percentage of .925 and goals against of 2.28 are both better than his career average.

Noah Beck will be playing his 100th game as a Golden Knight tonight and leads the D corps in points with 2 assists.

When Gosselin is able to make his return to the line up at center, Coach Jones will have great depth at the center position through all 4 lines.  Martino, who played in the first Notre Dame game, has 50 assists over his first 2 years and is one of the top playmakers in the ECAC.

Tonight's game will stream on ESPN+ and you can catch Bob Ahfeld and Casey Ditzel with the call on B99.3 FM
