Game Recap: Men's Hockey |

Clarkson finishes semester with a tie against Yale

The Knights were looking to close out the semester on a positive note, but despite a good effort, they had to settle for their second straight tie tonight against Yale.

Goaltender Brady Parker would get his first start as a Golden Knight and would be busy early on as he faced 12 shots in the first period.

Yale, who is one of the lowest-scoring teams in the nation was first to strike in the game when their leading scorer, David Chen, was able to get a shot passed Brady Parker at 3:44 of the first period.

The Knights would not get anything in the second period, but would breakthrough just 1:29 into the 3rd when Anthony Callin would get a power play goal for the Knights, his 8th of the season.
Clarkson would have to kill off a penalty shortly after they tied the game, then went on the power play half way through the period but neither squad could take the lead, so for the second straight night at Cheel over time was needed.

At 1:02 of overtime, Yale would take a penalty putting the Knights on a 4-3 advantage, but Clarkson could not convert.

A shoot out would be needed to decide the extra point again, the Knights would choose to shoot first and send Alex Campbell to the dot, but his shot would miss wide.  Brady Parker would face his first shoot out challenge and make a save.  Mathieu Gosselin would shoot next and miss on the backhand.  Yale would score on their 2nd attempt.  Anthony Callin would score on the 3rd round opener, and Yale would miss, forcing a 4th round, Ryan Taylor would get stuffed by the pad and Yale would score on their 4th attempt to get the extra point.

Brady Parker would make 25 saves in his debut.

Next the Knights will face UMass in Milwaukee at the Holiday Face Off.
