Knights Celebrate Seniors, Drop Dual Meet to Nazareth

Only two seniors are on the roster for the Clarkson University Swimming & Diving program this year, and the duo got a regular send-off on Saturday as the Golden Knights dropped a 154-72 decision to Nazareth College at Fuller Pool.

The Golden Knights' and Golden Flyers' men competed on Saturday, while the two school's women's teams will face one another next Friday.

Senior Angus McLean highlighted Clarkson's effort against the Golden Flyers, winning the 400 freestyle (4:29.40) by a quarter of a second. He also placed second in the 200 freestyle, barely being edged by less than half a second with a time of 2:05.75. Joining McLean as an individual event winner was freshman Solomon Rosner, who took first in the 50 freestyle with a time of 25.27 seconds, less than a tenth of a second ahead of the next two runners-up, including teammate Nicholas Miller (25.34). Miller also placed second in the 100 freestyle with a time of 55.25 seconds. Other runners-up were Tim Jordan, who took second in the 100 backstroke (1:08.88), and Colin Urmaza, who came in second in the 100 breaststroke (1:15.83). The Golden Knights 200 freestyle relay team, composed of Miller, Finn Halstead, Guillermo Barrios, and Rosner, also came in second with a time of 1:42.83.
