CU Swimming & Diving Preview - vs. Nazareth (3/6)

Competing for the first time since mid-November, the Clarkson University Swimming & Diving team will celebrate its two senior members this weekend when the Golden Knights host Nazareth College in a dual meet at Fuller Pool.

Saturday's meet against the Golden Flyers will only see the men participating, save for one diving event, as part of limitations in the pool area. Clarkson's women's team will travel to Rochester next weekend to face Nazareth.

Though there may be some additions to the schedule still, both Cary Lee and Angus McLean will be honored in a brief ceremony prior to the start of Saturday's meet.

Order of Events: 200 medley relay, 800 freestyle, 200 freestyle, 50 freestyle, 200 individual medley, men's 3-meter dive, women's 1-meter dive, 100 butterfly, 100 freestyle, 100 backstroke, 400 freestyle, men's 1-meter dive, 100 breaststroke, 200 freestyle relay

Key Stats for Clarkson: The Golden Knights swept a virtual meet against Juniata College back in mid-November, but this will be the team's first in-person meet of the season. Angus McLean (200 freestyle), Nicholas Miller (100 freestyle), Jase Smith (100 backstroke), Jack Kelly (100 breaststroke), Solomon Rosner (50 freestyle) and Alex Estano (100 butterfly) each won individual events against Juniata in 2020. The win for Smith marked his third victory in the 100 backstroke in five collegiate starts for that event. Jack Kelly's win in the 100 breaststroke marked his third straight win in a dual meet. Sophomore Collin Slupe won four events at dual meets during his freshman campaign and was a top performer at the Liberty League Championships a year ago, but did not participate in the virtual meet against Juniata.
