Game Recap: Women's Hockey |

Knights lose to SLU to end regular season

Clarkson will travel to Appleton for semi final game on Friday

In a winner take all game at Appleton on Monday, the Knights came out firing as they held an early shot and possession advantage, but St. Lawrence was able to strike first when a shot that went wide of the net bounced straight back on the stick of a Saint in front, who was able to tap that puck in.  Clarkson would get a power play and again mount heavy pressure, but the Saints withstood and got a power play of their own and made it 2-0 when Gout scored.  Pedersen would get her second of the game at 14:59 and then a few minutes later, Taylor Lum would make it 4-0 Saints.

Michelle Pasiechnyk would replace Coulombe after that and not give up a goal the rest of the way.  Clarkson was able to make it 4-1 when Kristy Pidgeon scored on a late first period power play.

The second period saw some good chances for Clarkson, but despite outshooting the Saints, they were not able to close the gap.  The third period again had the Knights outshooting the Saints, but they could not find a way past Lucy Morgan.  The Saints were able to get an empty net goal to ice it.  Coulombe ended with 5 saves on 9 shots and Pasiechnyk finished with 16 saves.  Clarkson out shot St. Lawrence 35 to 26.

The two teams will play a 4th game in a 7 day span, when the Saints will host Clarkson in an ECAC Semi Final matchup on Friday March 5th.
