The Clarkson goal scoring exploded Friday night as the Knights beat Harvard 6-2 for their first ECAC win of the season.
The 10th ranked Crimson jumped out to a 1-0 lead early in the first and held the lead after 1 period of play.
A gratuitous bounce started the scoring for the Knights as
Alex Campbell was able to get Clarkson on the board just 1:36 into the second period. With the Harvard goalie waiting behind the net for the puck that never came, Campbell was able to tap home the goal. Campbell helped put the Knights up for good with a great steal below the goal line then fed
Mathieu Gosselin who put it in under the crossbar. Freshman
George Grannis got his first as a Golden Knight when he redirected a shot from
Ryan Richardson. The Knights went up 4-1 when
Anthony Romano scored at 17:42 of the 2nd on the Power Play.
In the third, Harvard pulled within 2 but the Knights put the game away when
Luke Santerno scored on the Power Play to make it 5-2. Clarkson added an empty net goal to make the final 6-2.
Ethan Haider played outstanding in the win, making 37 saves.
Clarkson killed off all 6 penalties and went 2 for 6 with the power play.
