Anthony Romano and
Chris Klack scored under 2 minutes apart at the end of the second period and the team defense made it last holding Michigan Tech scoreless the rest of the way as the Knights got the split on the weekend with a 2-1 win in front of 2900+ at Cheel Arena on Family Weekend.
The first period like last night went score less for both teams, and like last night the Huskies struck first when Brian Hanolen got his third of the weekend. Unlike Friday the Knights continued to fight to get pressure & chances and then at 18:14
Noah Beck found
Zach Tsekos with a lond stretch pass that caught the Huskies in an odd man situation, Zach was able to hit a trailing
Anthony Romano who zipped it up under the cross bar to tie the game. As it looked like the period would end tied, a turn over in deep lead to
Chris Klack picking up the loose puck an snapping it in to give the Knights the lead going into the break.Â
In the third, the Huskies pulled their goalie with over 2:00 to go and had pressure but several blocked shots and a highlight save from
Ethan Haider kept it 2-1. Â
Both teams were 0 for 2 on the power play.Â
Ethan Haider ended up with 20 saves on the evening to improve his record to 4-2-1.
Clarkson will head to the Capital Region next weekend to open up league play against Union and RPI.
