The Clarkson Women's Hockey team was able to overcome an early goal from St. Lawrence with two unanswered goals in the 2nd period to pick up a victory at Appleton.
The Saints took the lead in the first when Abby Hustler scored at 11:07.  Clarkson, who outshot the Saints 28 to 20 were able to tie the game at 9:44 of the 2nd, when
Jenna Goodwin score unassisted and then took the lead shortly thereafter at 13:52 when
Stephanie Markowski scored with an assist from
Kristina Schuler.
The third period saw the Knights kill off two power plays and then clamp down on the forecheck to not allow SLU to pull their goalie for the extra attacker for any sustained amount of time. Â
Michelle Pasiechnyk made 19 saves on 20 shots, including a penalty shot attempt, for her 3rd win of the season. Neither team was able to score on the power play, Clarkson 0-4 and St. Lawrence 0-3.
The two teams will face off again tomorrow at 3:00 pm at Cheel. Tickets can be purchased at the Cheel Ticket Office and the doors to the arena will open an hour before puck drop (2:00 PM). All spectators are reminded that masks are required to be worn at all times inside the building.
