Fresh off a lopsided season-opening win against SUNY Canton, the Clarkson University Men's Lacrosse team heads across the North Country to take on Plattsburgh State on Tuesday afternoon.

Live Stats/Live Video

The Series: Clarkson holds a narrow 10-8 edge in the all-time series, and the Golden Knights have won three straight games against the Cardinals. The Green and Gold edged Plattsburgh by a single goal in both 2017 and 2018, but last year's win saw more separation in the way of a 14-5 victory.

Key Stats for Clarkson (1-0): Senior Conor Bartlett scored the game-winning goal in overtime back in 2018 versus the Cardinals and has produced solid success against Plattsburgh over the years, accumulating 11 points on eight goals and three assists in three games. He was especially active a year ago, scoring six points with four goals. Classmate Pierce Currie also scored four goals last year versus the Cardinals, while Trevor Borchardt, another senior, had four groundballs and caused four turnovers in the 2018 overtime win. Last year's defensive standout was Derek Beatty, had he produced five groundballs and two caused turnovers.

Key Stats for Plattsburgh State (1-0): While Clarkson cruised in its season-opener, the Cardinals defeated a Liberty League opponent, Skidmore College, in its first game, needing overtime to come away with a 10-9 win. Kevin Litchauer tallied the game-winner and had three points on the day, a good start towards matching or surpassing his total of 31 points (14-17-31) from a year ago. Litchauer ranked third on the team in points and had a team-best 17 assists. Stephen Kane scored twice against the Knights last season and ranked third on the team in goals with 19. Kyle Smith was busy in the season-opener with 10 groundballs, showing no rust from last season when he led the team with 86 groundballs.
