Game Recap: Men's Hockey |

Knights fall in OT

The Knights and Raiders traded goals back and forth over the first two periods, held to a scoreless third, and went into a 3 on 3 OT in which with the teams switching ends, the Knights had the long change and got caught with tired legs on the ice when Colgate was able to convert with 1:50 left into OT on a rebound in front.

The Knights struck first on the Power Play when Jack Jacome scored 6 seconds into the man advantage.  Colgate struck back quick and then appeared to take the lead on a goal that was reviewed and called back for goaltender interference.  Mathieu Gosselin got his 4th of the season and Grant Cooper his 5th of the season to close out the first period tied at 3.  Kris Oldham made 6 saves on 9 shots in the first.

The second period started with Ethan Haider in net for the Golden Knights.  Colgate took the lead but the Knights answered back when Alex Campbell got his 4th of the season.

Neither team was able to score in the third, so for the second time in three games, Clarkson went to sudden death 3 on 3 overtime.

The key tonight to the OT was puck possession and with the teams switching ends the Knights had a hard time making changes, which lead to Colgate's game winner.

Ethan Haider made 15 saves over the 2 periods and OT.  Clarkson was 1 for 2 with the Power Play and killed off 3 of 4 chances for Colgate including a 5 on 3.

The Knights remain in Potsdam for Christmas and will resume play on the 29th when they host Niagara in their final non conference game of the season.
