Welcoming Vassar College and Bard College to Alumni Gymnasium this weekend, the Clarkson University Volleyball team is entering an important stretch to the 2019 season as the Golden Knights begin the Liberty League slate versus the Brewers and Raptors.

Live Stats/Live Video

The Series: Clarkson is 21-14 all-time against Friday's opponent, Vassar College, but the Golden Knights lost to the Brewers in four sets last year. The two teams have played even since 2016 as both has gained three wins in that span. Against Bard, Clarkson is 15-0 all-time with wins in 43 consecutive sets, including 42 straight since the Raptors joined the Liberty League in 2011. Bard has averaged just 10.44 points per set in the last six meetings.

Key Stats for Clarkson (12-3, 0-0 Liberty League): It seems with every match that senior libero Kate Isaksen passes someone on an all-time digs list, but this weekend the step up will be especially noteworthy. Isaksen is currently tied for 17th all-time in digs in NCAA Division III Volleyball and the next spot is held by former Clarkson standout Alison Schroeder, who accumulated 2802 digs in 562 sets from 2007 to 2010. Isaksen needs just five more digs to tie Schroeder and a sixth to become Clarkson's all-time leader in that category, having played in nearly 150 fewer sets than Schroeder.

Key Stats for Vassar (4-9, 0-0 Liberty League): After a three-year stretch that included a .674 winning percentage (58-28), three Liberty League Playoff appearances and an NCAA at-large bid, the Brewers are suffering from a bit of a down campaign, losing a trio of all-star players in Annie McMillan, Devan Gallagher and Jane McLeod. The Brewers are in the midst of a youth movement, with only two upperclassmen on the team. Sophomore Claire Basler-Chang leads the team in kills (2.68) while senior Colette Cambey is averaging 2.24 kills per set with a .266 hitting percentage. Claire Bialek is the team's top defender with 4.63 digs per set.

Key Stats for Bard (3-8, 0-0 Liberty League): Senior Emily Anastasi currently leads the Liberty League in digs per set (6.68) and also helps the team from the service line with 23 aces (0.62 per set). Classmate Jewel Smith runs the team's offense with 6.70 assists per set to go along with 3.35 digs and 0.59 aces per set and junior Mikala L'Hote is the team's top hitter with 2.51 kills per set and a .248 hitting percentage. The Raptors are a little undersized and average just 0.49 blocks per set.
