CU Men's Soccer Preview - vs. Rensselaer (10/28)

Thanks to a win nearly 10 days ago, the Clarkson University Men's Soccer team no longer has to sweat out Saturday's game for playoff positioning as the Golden Knights are already locked in to the Liberty League Playoffs. The Green and Gold will, however, be looking to gain some momentum in their final game and send off the senior members of the team with a win in their last game at Hantz Turf Field.

LIVE STATS/LIVE VIDEO

The Series vs. Rensselaer: The Golden Knights are winless against the Engineers since 2005, having gone 0-10-1 in the last 11 meetings with seven straight defeats. That streak has Clarkson looking up at Rensselaer in the all-time series, down 28-21-4 in 53 matchups.

Key Stats for Clarkson (7-7-2, 3-3-2 Liberty League): Clarkson's 3-2 win against Skidmore on October 18th gives the Golden Knights the tie-breaker over the Thoroughbreds and a clinched playoff berth. Regardless of the outcome against the Engineers, the Knights are in the Liberty League Playoffs.

Key Stats for Rensselaer (7-7-2, 3-4-1 Liberty League): Unlike the Knights, Rensselaer still needs a point or some help on Saturday to reach the post-season. The Engineers will need to break out of a recent scoring slump in which they've scored just three goals in the last 641 minutes of play. Rensselaer has done well after the first half, outscoring their opponents 14-8 in the second half and overtime in 2017.
