Knights Roll in First Victory of the Season

Sophomores Emily Bojarski (Syracuse, NY) and Alyssa Breed (Macedon, NY) played a key role in the Clarkson University Women’s Lacrosse team’s first win of the year, highlighting an explosive offensive effort in the Golden Knights’ 19-4 win over Franklin Pierce in the opening game of the Green and Gold’s spring trip in Wellington, Florida.
 
Bojarski scored five goals and dominated on draw controls, winning seven, while Breed tallied four goals and assisted on another. Senior Lindsey Grigg (Watertown, NY) moved within four points of breaking Clarkson’s all-time scoring record, recording three goals and two assists against the Ravens. Through 46 career games for the Knights, Grigg has tallied a school-record 103 goals, along with 20 assists, and is three points shy of tying Mary Rice’s ‘03 school-record of 126 points (84-42).
 
Senior Erin Duffy (Liverpool, NY) was solid in the Clarkson goal, turning aside 10 shots.
 
Junior Alicia Chace (Cortland, NY) chipped in two goals and two assists, freshman Brittnie Carroll (Dexter, NY) scored twice and sophomore Heather Mine (South Burlington, VT) added one goal and one assist in Tuesday’s night’s victory. Junior Alexis Miller (Vestal, NY) and freshman Kimberly Loucks (Waterloo, NY) chipped in one goal and freshman Alyssa Bandy (Scotia, NY) recorded one assist.
 
Clarkson, at 1-2, will play Fredonia on Wednesday afternoon in the second game of their spring trip.
