KNIGHTS SWEEP UTICA IN DUAL MEET

Potsdam, NY - With two event victories each by Sarah Morris (Amherst, NY) and Jen Faucett (Charlton, NY), the Clarkson University Swim teams started off the 2005 dual meet season with a pair of victories as the women defeated Utica College 129-97 and the men picked up a victory against the Pioneers 114-101 Saturday afternoon at Fuller Pool.

Faucett placed first in the 200 freestyle and the 100 buttefly and also swam on the winning 200 medley relay, while Morris won the 200 individual medley and 100 breast stroke. Other winners on the women's side were Anna Josephs (Potsdam, NY) in the 100 freestyle and Molly Nichols (Baldwinsville, NY) in the 100 back stroke.

On the men's side, senior Matt Szrama (Orchard Park, NY) took home three individual victories for Clarkson, winning the 200 individual medley and 100 and 200 freestyle events. Dominic Desiderio (Derby, NY) also came in first for the Golden Knights, claiming a win in the 100 butterfly. Gerard Flynn (Liverpool, NY) took first in the 400 freestyle for Clarkson.

The Golden Knights finish up the regular season next weekend when they host Potsdam State.
