KNIGHTS GAIN REVENGE IN 62-44 WIN OVER POTSDAM

Potsdam, NY - Shooting 10-for-12 from the free throw line in the final 1:15 in the second half, the Clarkson University Men's Basketball team pulled away to a 62-44 win over Potsdam State in a non-league game Thursday night at the Bears' Maxcy Hall.

Clarkson trailed early by five points, but went on a 6-0 run in the early going and never trailed after the 14-minute mark in the first half.

Senior guard Kevin Williams (Syracuse, NY) scored a game-high 14 points and grabbed seven rebounds to lead the Golden Knights, who improved to 2-2 on the season. Freshman Jon Youngmann (Corinth, NY) added 10 points, shooting 4-for-7 from the floor. Senior guard Josh Harner (Houston, TX) added eight points while freshman Nick Jones (Washington, DC) scored seven points on 3-for-3 shooting.

The Golden Knights ended the game on a 14-2 run after Potsdam closed the gap to 48-42 with just over four minutes remaining.

Clarkson closes out the home portion of the 2003 schedule at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 6, when they host Hilbert College.
