RPI HOLDS OFF CLARKSON, 1-0

Potsdam, NY - With a quick score in the opening minutes, Rensselaer held on for a 1-0 win over the Clarkson University Men's Soccer team in an Upstate Collegiate Athletic Assocication (UCAA) league game Saturday afternoon at Clarkson Field.

Chris Bohren (Hopewell Junction, NY) scored on a shot from the top of the 18-yard box on a two-on-one break. The goal, scored at the 5:12 mark of the first period, ended a streak of over 253 minutes in which the Golden Knights had not allowed a goal. Mike Biggs (Cobleskill, NY) was awarded the assist for the Red Hawks.

David Hennessey (Wading River, NY) made four saves for the Golden Knights, who fell to 3-9-3 overall and 1-5-1 in the UCAA. Greg Goehle (Seldon, NY) stopped three shots to record his third shutout of the season for Rensselaer, which improved to 6-8 overall and 1-5 in the UCAA.

The Golden Knights will conclude the regular season next Saturday afternoon when they visit Plattsburgh State.
